It would have been an honour and a privilege to have met Anuradha Gandhy who has inspired and awed me by the actions she took in her life and the legacy she left behind.
Thousands of women, Poor, Adivasi, Dalits, among whom she lived and worked revere her for her teaching and her compassion and love for them which they returned manifold.
Anuradha was a committed revolutionary. She taught Adivasi and tribal women in Jharkhand about women’s health issues and women’s oppression and armed with this newfound knowledge they in turn became activists who were able to stand up for their rights.
Anuradha’s actions defined her. When I think of her, the words of Confucius come to mind.
“The superior man acts before he speaks, and afterwards speaks according to his actions”
Anuradha was an Amazing, Inspiring, Superior human being who lived by her beliefs and acted from a revolutionary zeal and a sense of love and compassion for marginalized women and for those on the fringes of Indian society.
