The International Women’s day is the result of labour/ working women’s agitations, protests and sacrifices more than a century ago. But now-a-days it became the platform and occasion for some ladies to diplay their riches and supremacy.
Since women are lagging behind socially, economically, politically and culturally..catering a day for them is appreciable. If we observe critically ..the outcome for this special day is negative, as a matter of fact.
The gender discrimination is visible everywhere. The signs of equality are far away. Women were considered and limited just for fashion divas and decorative pieces. The inhuman oppression in the guise of flattering and exploiting them is a habit of patriarchal capitalist society.
For the women’s emancipation there were many movements and protests and finally UNO declared March 8 as international women’s day in 1975. It was announced that year as an international women’s year. Earlier The China state council declared March 8 as women’s day in 1949.
The need of the hour for the women is to develop broad outlook and enhance their knowledge levels to combat all forms oppression
